In recent days, we have witnessed a coordinated disinformation campaign, primarily targeting Ukrainians in Poland and the leader of “Euromaidan-Warsaw,” Nataliia Panchenko. This is a completely false attack aimed at discrediting Nataliia and undermining the credibility of our organization. The blow to our image only confirms that what we are doing is incredibly important and effective.
In response to this unjust smear campaign, Polish civil society organizations and prominent public figures have issued an open letter in defense of Nataliia Panchenko and the entire Ukrainian community in Poland. The letter was signed by 30 well-known and active non-governmental organizations in Poland, as well as over 70 public figures – including social activists, lawyers, journalists, actors, and others. Among the signatories are Jurek Owsiak, Janina Ochojska, Agnieszka Holland, and organizations such as the Polish Migration Forum, Amnesty International, and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights.
The signatories strongly oppose manipulation and the incitement of anti-Ukrainian sentiments. They point out that attacks on Nataliia Panchenko are not just attempts to destroy one person’s reputation, but part of a broader Russian propaganda strategy aimed at dividing Polish society and weakening solidarity with Ukraine.
We are grateful to everyone who has stood up not only for Nataliia Panchenko, but also for our organization “Euromaidan-Warsaw” and – most importantly – for the Ukrainian community in Poland. Your support is proof that values like truth, solidarity, and mutual respect are stronger than any disinformation.
We publish the letter below:
